Why a Flu Vaccination is worth it

When flu season arrives each year, a flu vaccination is one of the easiest ways to look after your health. The flu isn’t just a heavy cold. It can cause serious illness and lead to hospital stays, especially for older adults, young children, pregnant people, and those with ongoing health conditions.

Getting vaccinated trains your immune system to fight the flu. This lowers your risk of getting sick and, if you catch it, helps reduce the severity of symptoms and the chance of being hospitalised. Because flu viruses change from year to year, an annual vaccine offers the best protection.

A flu shot protects you, helps safeguard vulnerable people around you, and reduces pressure on healthcare services. It’s a small step with a big impact.
